Following an FAA directive, Qatar Airways has announced the grounding of its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner fleet and postponed the planned introduction of the aircraft on the Doha – Perth route. The grounding follows concerns about the Li-ion batteries used on the aircraft and came after Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority followed the US FAA in ordering the grounding. The Qatar Airways fleet is currently positioned as follows:

A7-BCB at Doha having last operated at QR101 Dubai – Doha on 14th January.
A7-BCC at Doha having yet to enter service.
A7-BCK at London Heathrow having operated QR75 Doha – London Heathrow yesterday.
A7-BCL at Doha having operated QR103 Dubai – Doha this morning.
