Qatar Airways Announced Doha – Edinburgh Service.

Qatar Airways today announced a 5 x weekly Doha – Edinburgh Boeing 787-8 service to commence on 28th May 2014. Schedules are as follows:

QR27 Doha 0800 – Edinburgh 1315 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays
QR28 Edinburgh 1445 – Doha 2340 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJC Further Delayed at Toronto.

Following the hydraulic issue it encountered yesterday, British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJC was unable to depart as scheduled as yesterday’s BA98 Toronto – London Heathrow this evening and will remain at Toronto overnight.

Etihad Places Major Boeing Order.

Etihad and Boeing today announced an order for 17 Boeing 777-9Xs, 8 Boeing 777-8Xs and purchase rights for a further 12 777Xs with the exact model to be determined later. Additionally the airline has ordered 30 Boeing 787-10s, which in addition to the 41 Boeing 787-9s it has on order will give Etihad the world’s largest Dreamliner fleet. Options and purchase rights were also taken for an additional 12 Boeing 787-10s. A single Boeing 777F was also ordered for Crystal Cargo with options on a further two aircraft.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJC Toronto Technical Issue.

British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJC operating BA99 London Heathrow – Toronto suffered a total loss of the centre hydraulic system en route but continued to Toronto for a safe landing. The return BA98 has been delayed overnight.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJD Returns to Service.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJD, which has been out of service at London Heathrow since 22nd October, returned to traffic today operating BA189 London Heathrow – Newark. The airport was reported to have been struck by a baggage truck at Toronto on 21st October, and we have also received reports that it was further damaged at London Heathrow during the high winds on 28th October.

JetStar B787-8 VH-VKA Training Flights.

JetStar Boeing 787-7 VH-VKA operated a Melbourne – Coolangatta – Sydney training flight as JQ1624 this morning, followed by a Sydney – Melbourne training flight as JQ1622.

Qatar Airways B787-8 A7-BCK Returns from Copenhagen.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 3rd November, Qatar Airways B787-8 A7-BCK departed Copenhagen early this afternoon operating the delayed QR160 Copenhagen – Doha of 3rd November as QR160D.
