Jetstar Boeing 787-8 VH-VKG positioned Brisbane – Cairns this morning as JQ7992 after arriving as JQ58 from Denpasar in order to operate today’s JQ15 Cairns – Osaka Kansai. As a result JQ47 Brisbane – Denpasar and JQ44 Denpasar – Melbourne were cancelled.

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKD Cairns Technical Issue.

Jetstar Boeing 787-8 VH-VKD arrived into Cairns this morning as JQ16 from Osaka Kansai (depart Osaka 29th March), however its scheduled return to Osaka this morning as JQ15 has been delayed overnight due to a technical issue.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJE BA36 RAT Deployment.

British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJE operating BA36 Chennai – London Heathrow landed with the RAM Air Turbine deployed this morning. The aircraft did not squawk any emergency code and did two laps in the Lambourne stack before landing and taxiing to the terminal under its own power.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJG Shannon Rescue Mission.

Following the diversion of BA2156 Tobago – Antigua – London Gatwick to Shannon this morning, British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJG positioned London Heathrow – Shannon as BA9178 this afternoon to collect the stranded passengers and ferry them Shannon – London Gatwick as BA2156. The aircraft then positioned London Gatwick – London Heathrow as BA9159.

Jetstar Boeing 787-8 VH-VKD operated an additional Melbourne – Denpasar rotation early this afternoon as JQ43D/JQ44D. This operated in place of yesterday’s JQ43/JQ44.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJB Returns to Service.

British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJB, which has been under maintenance at London Heathrow since positioning from Chennai on 10th March, returned to service this evening operating BA187 London Heathrow – Newark.

Etihad B787-9 A6-BLB Returns from Dusseldorf.

Following the technical issue it encountered yesterday, Boeing 787-9 l/n 253, Etihad A6-BLB, departed Dusseldorf early this morning operating yesterday’s delayed EY24 Dusseldorf – Abu Dhabi as EY24A.

Virgin Atlantic B787-9 G-VZIG Delivered.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 G-VZIG  was delivered Paine Field – London Heathrow this evening as VS827P. The aircraft is in 31J/35W/198Y configuration and Billboard livery and is named “Dream Jeannie” and not “Dream Genie” as originally announced. This is odd as the ZIG registration appears to be David Bowie reference from his Ziggy Stardust phase and the name is a play on the David Bowie song “The Jean Genie”.  This brings the Virgin Atlantic B787-9 fleet up to four aircraft.

British Airways B787-8 G-ZBJB Returns from Chennai.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 1st March, British Airways Boeing 787-8 G-ZBJB positioned Chennai – London Heathrow this evening as BA9172. The aircraft has been attended by a Boeing team to fix a slat.

Virgin Atlantic B787-9 G-VAHH Returns from Washington.

Following the technical issue it encountered yesterday, Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 G-VAHH departed Washington this evening operating yesterday’s delayed VS22 Washington – London Heathrow as VS22A.

Virgin Atlantic Announce Second Daily San Francisco Rotation.

Virgin Atlantic today announced  a second daily London Heathrow – San Francisco rotation to commence on 25th October 2015. The Boeing 787-9 service will operate to the following schedule:

VS41 London Heathrow 1515 – San Francisco 1815
VS42 San Francisco 2145 – London Heathrow 1600+1.
